Cuisinart PerfecTemp Cordless Electric Kettle Review

Cuisinart PerfecTemp Cordless Electric Kettle

Cuisinart PerfecTemp Cordless Electric Kettle

Pros:

It has variable temperature control allowing you to select anywhere from 160° F to a rapid boil.

As long as it is kept on the base it will maintain the selected temperature with the “keep warm” option for 30 minutes.

I can attest to the auto off feature as it has worked for me in the past, if you forget to fill it before you press the START button then within a minute you will hear it shut off as the thermostat in the base doesn’t sense a change in water temperature.

While on the base the water level indicator is backlit with a nice blue LED.

The kettle itself is completely independent of the corded base, please keep in mind that you have to have it on the base to boil or keep the water warm (we are not at the point of wireless electricity yet, sadly).

Cons:

The only real issue that I have had with this kettle is that it only has preset temperature buttons. You are able to pull the kettle off the base and pour at any point.

Review:

We have used this kettle every day since we got it, to replace our Keurig, which by the end of its life we were only really ever using it for boiling water.

Partially because of this kettle we have started to drink tea more often and relax a little bit on the wobbly pops. It is very nice to have the ability to have the option to choose between piping hot to perfect sipping temperature. It also has a setting for the French press which works out for us since we recently got one for us to enjoy our morning coffee.

I will say that the cord doesn’t tuck into the base as it shows in the photos that Cuisinart has released for the kettle but that really isn’t a deal breaker.

The kettle can seem a little noisy but if we are honest, any water at a rolling boil can be kind of loud depending on how close you are to it.

Conclusion:

Is this cordless electric kettle worth it? I would say so. I am very happy with it considering how often we use it in our house. Boiling water every day all day since we have gotten it. It works like a charm and there haven’t been any real issues since it arrived. We do have extremely hard water where we live and have only had a slight accumulation of lime scale on the bottom of the kettle, but that isn’t really a problem. The limescale issue can apparently be solved with one of these, but as of yet, we haven’t tested it out.
